Hand-Painted Folk Art Trunk

Antique pine trunk, possibly Swedish, in the manner of mid-19th century Northern European folk art. Retains original hand-painted surface with heavy patina and layered distress from over two centuries of use.

An evocative storage piece with strong material presence and historical character.

Shows natural wear to the wood and metal, with areas of faded original paint and discoloration consistent with age and use. Screws in hinges have been replaced making it suitable for modern use.
